Center for Veterinary Medicine - Animal Food Safety
Ensuring that the food people and animals eat is safe and protected from contamination is an essential element of promoting human and animal health. Through the Food Safety Modernization Act, FDA has the mandate and authority to construct a modern integrated food safety system that protects food from farm to table, establishes shared responsibility for food safety among all participants, and strengthens accountability for prevention of foodborne illness, domestically and internationally. Each FDA-TRACK program area collects, analyzes, and reports its performance measures and results. Explores the progress CVM is making towards its Animal Food Safety strategic initiatives.
